Horizontal drilling machine CM-020-HDD

The CM-020-HDD machine is a fixed horizontal drilling rig that allows for trenchless operations, meaning without open-pit excavation, for the installation of underground pipes and cables. The system is composed of two separate units: the first, called the power unit, is a transportable device comprising a diesel engine, hydraulic pump, hydraulic oil and diesel fuel tanks, cooling systems, and an electronic control system that supplies electrical and hydraulic power to the second unit, called the drilling unit, which includes all the components needed to operate the tools acting on the ground: rotary, pull and push carriage, and locking clamps. The main feature of this equipment is the use of bayonet drill rods, which allow for quick and safe insertion and retrieval. The drill rods are the component that transmits linear and rotary motion to the tools at the head of the drill string (also called the "rod pack"), which act on the ground.
